CPCS Test Centre – Construction Plant Competence Scheme

Our CPCS Test Centre provides support for construction plant operators looking to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and competence through the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS). CPCS is one of the most widely recognised card schemes within the UK plant and construction industry, helping employers identify operators who have the appropriate operating skills and an understanding of health and safety requirements.

The CPCS Technical Test consists of two key elements: a practical test to demonstrate operating ability and a theory test covering underpinning knowledge, category-specific requirements, environmental and health and safety considerations, as well as operators’ rights and responsibilities. The testing process is supported by a structured training syllabus, allowing candidates to prepare according to their individual experience and training requirements.

CPCS provides a recognised skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry and covers a wide range of plant categories. Candidates can undertake training and testing through approved CPCS trainers, training providers, in-house trainers and other suitable training routes.
